Our New Hema-Free Range
Sep 24, 2024
Our founder, Helen opens up about our new Hema-Free line and why it was so important for us to develop a new range.
Q) How long did the new Hema-Free range take to develop?
Our new Hema-free range took over 18 months to develop. Before the 'scandal' hit, we had already been testing formulations. Unlike other brands, we didn't jump in to a formula when our industry hit the news - we continued to test the formula to ensure it was the best it could possibly be. All in all, the hema-free range has taken almost 2years to come to the market.
Q) Why was it important to provide a Hema-free range?
I myself have an allergy to Hema - not caused by any specific products other than over-use many, many years ago (before TGO was born) and some medical conditions which exposed me to Hema on an extremely regular basis. I've always prided myself on the fact that we bring products to the market that I myself use and when my allergy became obvious, it was time to search for the perfect formula.
Q) Why did you change manufacturer for the gel colour?
To put it simply - I found a manufacturer who created a hema-free gel colour which is highly pigmented (SO similar to our OG line) and has hema staying power, without the Hema. The fact that the manufacturer we've moved to is EU based is simply a result of them helping us to create the formula we are so proud of.
Q) Now we have a complete Hema-free system, what's next?
We launched our Hema-free line with 6 beautiful autumn shades - we'll continue to develop this range and make sure we offer a comprehensive range of Hema-free gel polishes.
Q) How close to the original line, is the Hema-free range?
When testing, this was at the forefront of our minds - we wanted to bring a quality Hema-free product to the market, without compromising on quality. Typically, Hema-free is a thinner viscosity but ours isn't typical - it's a medium viscosity which is super similar to our original line, even in terms of pigmentation. Our OG line can provide amazing pigmentation and cover in one coat (though we always recommend two). Our Hema-free range is extremely similar and in most cases can provide coverage within one coat - though again, we'd never recommend it.
